Description
This heron was perched on a plank at Cheadle Lake in Lebanon, Oregon on a recent snowy morning. Though he preferred perching with his head tucked warmly in his feathers, he did peek out long enough to satisfy this photographer.
Our resident herons are not used to this type of weather. Lebanon is located in the temperate Willamette Valley of Oregon. Though we get a lot of rain, we don't get too much snow. He looks like he's not enjoying the change.
