Description
A decrepit wood waste burner rusts in an old mill yard near Florence, Oregon. The surrounding forested hills are shrouded in a misty rain on this Oregon winter afternoon. These burners are also called wigwam burners, teepee burners, or beehive burners. They were a big contributor to pollution and poor air quality. The waste products that were originally burned are now processed into other materials. This photo is a close up of the upper deck and screens across the rusty structure.
