Description
This image was shot facing west on the east end of Newport, Oregon's famous bayfront. A variety of fishing boats are reflected in the placid morning waters of Yaquina Bay, and the iconic, art-deco Yaquina Bay Bridge presides over the fleet at the entry to the Pacific Ocean.
Newport is a popular tourist destination for whale watching and sport fishing. It also supports a thriving fisheries trade in tuna, Dungeness crab, ling cod, rockfish, salmon, and halibut.
