Description
The late autumn sunlight filters through the forest at McDowell Creek Park in Linn County, Oregon.
McDowell Creek Park is a popular destination in Linn County, Oregon. It lies off of Highway 20 between Lebanon and Sweet Home. It sits back in a secluded valley, where McDowell Creek winds over and through basalt shelves and rock formations. There is a short hiking path that takes you through a beautiful forest, over a couple of bridges, and past some stunning waterfalls.
On this cool autumn day I beat the sun to this little valley and had to wait a while for this shot with the sun softly washing through the forest, highlighting all of the fall color.
I was recently honored by having this photo selected to be in the Ruralite 2021 calendar. It is the photo for October.
